Discover the extreme side of Amsterdam and the Redlight District

We start our extreme Amsterdam article with a local product, the wooden shoe. I always knew that Kristel had big feet but now she is exaggerating. If you would like to buy a pair, they are available in all souvenir shops of the city. The Dutch are proud of their country and the Holland feeling is displayed by wearing orange colours for festivities or major sport events.

In the city of Amsterdam extravagant sights and photo opportunities are for grabs. Below we give some examples of graffiti, publicity of coffee shops for the consumption of legal drugs, transvestites celebrating on the street, people playing a mobile organ, a religious steakhouse… The general feeling is that people enjoy life, are happy and there is freedom of expression.

The last two pictures of the Redlight district were already published on the internet and I added the link to the original site. We didn’t want to take our own pictures on the Wallen because visitors and the girls working mostly prefer to stay anonymous. Raising your camera in the Red light district could get you into problems.

  2. Kristel is going to be angry about that big feet comment, Filip. That "shoe" looks huge on her! Such different sights within the city - something for everyone.

  3. If the shoe fits! Sit in otherwise! What a great picture! You have out done yourself on the local charm of this place! I totally agree with you not wanting to pull your camera out at the wrong places! You did find some cool photos to share just so we can get an idea! Wow...what a place, I've never been there, I have heard about it plenty and my daughter was there on holiday with her class while she was in high school....I'm sure she only shared "some" of what was really there! To me anyway! Yikes!

Pozdrawiam.
I love this district and a girl with orange hair. *** From Barcelona to Figueres (S Museum, Dali) is only 136 km to the north and it is worth going there. Yours.

  15. Erg leuke reeks!

    Kortom: topserie!

  19. Hahaha, wooded shoes are a typical souvenire from Netherlands. I bought a pair for my daughters as well. I recognized some of your photos!! I have seen "Steak House" (quite extreme picture) and that musical car. The World is so little :)
    Greetings.

  21. Kristel sitting in this shoe is too funny! Great shot. Also, I am assuming that the person with the red gloves is a guy?? Interesting to see a red light district advertised.
