A mix of modern and classic, General Impressions of Cartagena, Spain

What to expect in Cartagena, Spain. We are repeating the country in this text because there is also a Cartagena in Columbia. Both cities we visited and they are very fascinating. Here in Spain, we would describe the city as a combination of modern and classic buildings. Some of the classic buildings have so many details that it is almost impossible to believe how they considered building it.

We even encountered a Jet Fighter statue. With the mountains in the background, it looks like the plane is really flying. In many Spanish cities you find religious mosaics and this is also the case in Cartagena. The colours of facades and ground art are amazing. With this warm climate nature has the possibility the grow flowers, palm trees and lots of plants.

We didn’t see a lot of graffiti but at the pedestrian tunnel near the harbour, on the last pictures was exceptional. We saw black and white art with treasures and an octopus. Cartagena is a city worth visiting.

  1. I especially like the tree lines street with all those amazing palm trees. I would really like to see Spain myself someday. The jet statue is interesting, and not too far from my house is a statue, some what like this, but with three jets!
